Yu-Ching Chao (Taiwan, Germany) & Gid'on Meir (Israel) – harpsichord in a unique program celebrating the versatility of recorder music.

Yu-Ching Chao

Having finished her degrees in Hamburg and Leuven in 2015 with distinction, Taiwanese recorder player Yu-Ching Chao is currently studying for a postgraduate concert diploma (Konzertexamen) with Susanna Borsch in Trossingen, Germany.

Yu-Ching is active as soloist, ensemble player, and tutor. Sharing her passioon "on and off stage" in Taiwan, Germany, England, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic, Norway, and Portugal, she has worked intensively with both early- and modern music specialists, as well as composers, among others Peter Holtslag, Bart Spanhove, Roderik de Man, Erik Bosgraaf, and Tom Beets.

Yu-Ching is based in north Germany as freelancer and recorder teacher. From spring 2017 on, she is member of the the renowned recorder quartet i Flautisti.

She was four times prize winner of the National Music Competition Category Recorder Solo in Taiwan, and the 1st prize winner of the competition of Recorder Festival Nordhorn 2018.

Gidi Meir

Gidi Meir harpsichordist, organist and pianist is a graduate of the Israel conservatory, San Francisco conservatory and Oberlin college Conservatory where he earned the Artist Diploma (recipient of the Dean's Talent Award) in Harpsichord Performance with Lisa Crawford. In San Francisco Meir studied Early Music and Harpsichord with the late Laurette Goldberg and was her assistant. Studied Piano with the late Malka Mevorach in Tel Aviv.  Organ studies with David Boe and Juan Onasis. The late Menahem Meir, Gidi's father and former head of ICM is a major influence in his musical education. Meir performs on all three instruments and teaches privately in Tel Aviv. He has performed as soloist in USA, Canada, Argentina, Germany and France and Israel.
