המחווה של רומן רבינוביץ' לפיקאסו כוללת מוסיקה ספרדית, מוסיקת בלט רוסית ועיסוק בעולמו של הליצן. לדבריו "התכנית מציגה את המוסיקה של שני מלחינים הקשורים לספרד – המאסטר הבארוקי, זיפולי, ובן תקופתו הספרדי של פיקאסו – גרנדוס. דרך המחווה של דביסי לספרד עם 'ערב בגרנדה' מתוך יצירתו 'תחריטים', והבלוז הנוגה מהפרלודים של גרשווין, אני משלים את התכנית עם יצירות מאת סאטי וסטרווינסקי, אליהם התוודע פיקאסו דרך להקת ה-Ballets Russes של דיאגילב, ויצירה מפרי עטי העוסקת בעולמו של הליצן, נושא מרכזי בתקופה הוורודה ביצירתו של פיקאסו".

מאז זכייתו בתחרות רובינשטיין 2008 נהנה רומן רבינוביץ' מקריירה בינלאומית משגשגת. הוא זכה לשבחים רבים בניו-יורק טיימז, במגזין המוסיקה של הבי.בי.סי ועוד, והופיע באולמות נודעים ברחבי אירופה וארה"ב, בהם הוויגמור בלונדון, הסיטה דה לה מוזיק בפריז, הקונצרטחבאו באמסטרדם, אולם הקרנגי ומרכז לינקולן בניו-יורק, מרכז קנדי בוושינגטון והאולם הגדול של הקונסרבטוריון במוסקבה. כמו כן, השתתף בפסטיבלים רבים, בהם מרלבורו, לוצרן, דאבוס, מקלנבורג-פורפומרן, פסטיבל האביב של פראג, פסטיבל הפסנתר רוהר, פסטיבל באת' באנגליה ועוד. ב-2015 היה הראשון מבין שלושה פסנתרנים צעירים שנבחרו על ידי אנדראס שיף להשתתף בסדרת Building Bridges בעריכתו.
