Roman Grinberg is shaping the Jewish music scene in Vienna more than anyone else.  For more than 30 years he has had a leading role in the Jewish cultural life. No matter if it´s a Jewish wedding or a Klezmer concert, an international festival or a theatre, a solo gig or an own band, as a musical superintendent or as the director of the Vienna Jewish Choir  – Roman Grinberg has devoted his life to preserving and distributing Jewish music.

In the best tradition of yiddish musicians and poets Grinberg doesn´t just see himself as a conservator, but more likely he is an active innovator in all areas of Jewish music finding new ways and approaches.

Born into a family of musicians in the former Bessarabian shtetl Belz, Roman Grinberg brings in an seemingly easygoing way along what every artist longs for – authenticity.
