רפאל סקורקה, יליד 1988, הינו הזוכה בפרס השלישי בתחרות הבין-לאומית הראשונה למוסיקה בחרבין, סין לשנת 2018. הוא החל את לימודי הפסנתר בגיל 8 בקונסרבטוריון למוסיקה בכרמיאל אצל הגב' סווטלנה פחטר. סקורקה הוא בעל תואר ראשון מהאקדמיה למוסיקה ולמחול בירושלים, בה היה תלמידו של פרופ׳ אסף זהר, ובעל תואר שני ודוקטורט מהמכון למוסיקה בקליבלנד, ארה"ב, שם למד בסטודיו של סרגיי בביאן. עם סיום לימודיו בקליבלנד, הוענק לו פרס ע״ש סרגיי בביאן על הישגיו האמנותיים הבולטים בפסנתר.

סקורקה השתתף במיטב הפסטיבלים הבינלאומיים למוסיקה, ביניהם באקדמיית הקיץ של פסטיבל וורביה בשוויץ (2012) ובתוכנית הקאמרית היוקרתית לפסנתר ולכלי-קשת במסגרת פסטיבל רוויניה שבארה"ב (2009 ו-2011). בהזדמנויות אלו עבד עם מוסיקאים מהשורה הראשונה, ביניהם הפסנתרנים הידועים ליאון פליישר, מנחם פרסלר, דמיטרי בשקירוב, קלוד פרנק, אריה ורדי והכנרות בעלות השם מרים פריד ופמלה פרנק.

סקורקה הופיע עם מספר תזמורות בארץ, ביניהן התזמורת הסימפונית ירושלים, התזמורת הסימפונית הישראלית ראשון-לציון, אנסמבל סולני תל-אביב, הסינפונייטה באר-שבע והתזמורת הסימפונית אשדוד. בנוסף, הוא הרבה להופיע ברסיטלים ברחבי ישראל אשר פעמים מספר שודרו בתחנת הרדיו הארצית "קול המוסיקה".

סקורקה זכה בתחרויות שונות בארץ, מתוכן: מענק מיוחד על ביצוע מצטיין בתחרויות האביב בתל-אביב (2018), מקום ראשון בתחרות ״פסנתר לתמיד״ באשדוד (2009) ומקום שני בתחרות האמן הצעיר בירושלים (2008).

בין השנים 2003-2014 קיבל סקורקה ברציפות את מלגות קרן התרבות אמריקה-ישראל.

The third prize winner of the 1st International Music Competition Harbin China (2018), Rafael Skorka began learning the piano at the age of 8 with Mrs. Svetlana Pachter at the Karmiel Music Conservatory in Israel. Skorka holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the Jerusalem Academy of Music, where he studied with Prof. Asaf Zohar, and both a Master of Music and a Doctor of Musical Arts degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM), studying in the studio of Sergei Babayan. In 2018, upon graduating from CIM, Skorka won the Sergei Babayan Prize in Piano, recognizing his outstanding artistic achievements.

Skorka appeared as soloist with many orchestras in Israel, including the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, the Israel Symphony Orchestra Rishon LeZion, the Tel-Aviv Soloists Ensemble, the Israel Sinfonietta Beer Sheva and the Ashdod Symphony Orchestra. He also took part in several prestigious music festivals, including the Steans Music Institute Program for Piano and Strings at the Ravinia Festival (2009, 2011) and the Verbier Festival Academy in Switzerland (2012).

Skorka won a number of competitions in Israel, including the “Piano Forever” Competition in Ashdod (first prize, 2009) and the Voice of Music Young Artists Competition (second prize, 2008). More recently, he received a special grant for outstanding performance in piano in the 2018 Aviv Competitions in Tel-Aviv. Between the years 2003-2014, Skorka has been granted several scholarships by the America-Israel Cultural Foundation.
